Is there an update schedule?

Unlike the main comic, there's no official update schedule for this AU, I kind of just post when I feel like it. Updates are pretty regular though unless there's a designated hiatus going on.

When will the next arc release?

There are no set/definite release dates for each arc as this is not a schedule-based comic, but historically I tend to start arcs not long after the previous one ends.

Are the Cometkids/other characters safe for kinning?

You can kin any of them EXCEPT Ally, Eve, Howie, and Scrap because Ally is my fursona - Eve is my self insert - and Howie is the boyfriend of my fursona (Ally) and Scrap is the boyfriend of my self insert (Eve) and I would feel really weird about people kinning my sona/self insert's boyfriends. Please respect this boundary, they're really personal to me.

Are the Cometkids/other characters safe to have as F/Os?

All the adult Cometkids/nearfamily/other cast besides Ally Howie, and Scrap are OK to have as F/Os, but please do not do this with the minors.

Are the side patients, Chunklings, and former staff in the AU?

Yes, all the former patients and former staff (besides Cuddles obviously) exist in the AU somewhere.

Are the families of Barry and Uni in the AU?

They are in the AU as well.

Why is Uni called "mom"?

In the future, Uni identifies as transfeminine and uses feminine nouns (mom, Miss/Mrs, sister, wife, girl, etc) and any pronouns (but primarily she/her). Uni also does not identify as a gay man or gay but can be described as queer with a masc preference.

Are any of the characters genders/sexualities different?

The only character who changes is Uni, which is explained above.

Do the half-Cometkids (Norma and Blair) not live with the Comets? (based on the fact they're visiting)

They do, they have rooms at both houses. In the intro arc, Carrie was just dropping them off and decided to take it as an opportunity to bring Hemera and Chloe along for a short visit.

Does Cream have ARFID?

Cream doesn't have an ARFID diagnosis explicitly, but I have it myself and I project my experiences with struggling to eat onto her, which is why she has the traits of ARFID.

What do the characters sound like? (for dubbing purposes or other things)

What is nearfamily?

Nearfamily is like "stepfamily" for polyamorous relationships on Spinch. It means that technically you aren't related, but someone in your blood family (parents or siblings) are connected to them through polyamory. EXAMPLE: Barry and Uni are Ally's parents. Ally isn't related to Doom or Polly, but her parents are married to them, so Doom and Polly are her nearparents.

Why is Hemera married to Caroline? Isn't she aro?

Caroline and Hemera's relationship is queerplatonic in nature, their bond is not romantic despite being in a relationship/married. This also extends to Hemera's other partners.

How are Hemera and Carrie nearfamily to the Comets if they're connected through polyamory?

Caroline is dating Doom and Uni, and they each have kids with each other.

How can Caroline date Uni or Doom if she's a lesbian?

Because Uni is transfeminine. Doom is also agender and not masc-aligned despite using masculine nouns.

How do the other parents feel about Doom and Uni being with Carrie (etc)?

All parties in the Comet's polycule consent to their individual partnerships, everyone is okay with it.

Can we see a family tree?

This is a work-in-progress family tree for the Comets and their nearfamily. More will be added over time.

Why is Uni afraid of aliens?

Answered in this post from arc 2.

How do the Comets afford their big house?

The Comet parents have 4 separate incomes and can afford their bills and support their children this way.

Even if Cometcare itself isn't canon, is the East Eroid incident canon to Spinch lore?

Yes, the East Eroid incident happened on Spinch canonically, it just has nothing to do with anything in the canon comic, but details about it are obviously altered for AU storytelling purposes.

Why are there metal detectors at the airport in arc 3?

The Things That Caused Airports To Have Metal Detectors did and do not happen on Spinch, but they exist there not only to make our identifying with their experiences easier but also because having safety measures like that is just kind of common sense (and as we know, though they are still stupid, anthries are a smidgen less-stupid than humans).

Who is the green guy at the end of arc 2?

You'll see eventually!

Why is everything mentioning/referencing the hospital being censored out?

The parents are pretending the hospital did not exist, and their children do not know about it.

What happened to Cuddles?

In this post from arc 4, it is revealed that the former victims of the hospital all don't know what happened to him.

How is the staff not in jail?

In this post from arc 4, it is revealed that the staff members have freedom thanks to the hospital being covered up by the government. They had to legally change their names and were put under witness protection to avoid having their backgrounds looked into.
